After all of those years being
stuck on a page, did you ever imagine it up on the stage?
And what is this “it” to imagine,
you ask? It’s some pretty big thinks; it’s a mighty big task!
As Christmas approaches, write to Santa,
say your prayers,
Because Seussical— the
musical! Is now on stage at St. Gabriel Miracle Players!
They went out of the box— and
their sky turned bright pink!
Oh! Excuse me there, reader, but I thought you’d like to know
Just what was seen today with the other Jojo!
Remember me, reader? We spoke last week about Seussical?
Well Heritage Players is two weeks in with that musical!
I don’t usually go back to see a show twice
But this show was smashing, it was really quite nice!
I gathered up my friends— five children in tow…
And when we arrived— well?
It’s most certainly definitely a sweltering summer!
But please, oh please, don’t let the weather be a bummer!
Because there are so many things you can think if you try!
Like a production of Seussical that you shouldn’t pass by!
Why, it’s The Heritage Players offering up their zany summer show!
And it’s a pretty darn good one, take it from me— I should know!
If you’ve brains in your head and you’ve feet in your shoes
Then hurry up quick! There’s no time to lose!
For two hours of whimsy! For two hours of fun!
You must take a journey up to Rising Sun!
There’s a little black box theatre there, tucked away in a corner
And if you need a great show, they’re what the doctor ordered!
“Think and wonder, wonder and think.” Infamous children’s book author Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel) seemed to be a big fan of a good think. All throughout his books, he encouraged kids to think for themselves, find out and become who they are and fight for what they believe in. So, it’s no small wonder that a musical based on his books is all about characters trying to do just that. Seussical, The Musical,
Dearest Reader, an adventure awaits you— both bold and daring!
But with effort abound, tons of creativity and caring
A spectacular spectacle, and you must doubt those naysayers,
Comes Seussical! The Musical at Charm City Players!
It’s all been done before, it’s been done too many times
Why that musical about Seuss with all of its rhymes!
But I’m telling you this,
When the holidays are frantic or your Christmas is blue—
You should pack up the family and do what I do!
